MHN: Manning Up for Nobel Peace Prize, Pentagon Eyes Retirement Cuts

 The Pentagon plans to change the military retirement system to save money.
More then two million retirees and survivors now collect more then $50 billion each year and Defense Department officials fear that amount could double in 20 years.
The Air Force Academy was created in 1954. Now it has its first female superintendent.
Rhodes Scholar, Lt. Gen. Michelle Johnson now oversees the institution in Colorado Springs.
Facing decades in prison for leaking classified documents, Pfc. Bradley Manning has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Those backing Manning for the prize contend his disclosures led to troop withdrawals and stopped the United States from more Middle East interventions.
The names of three American soldiers killed in combat Sunday while fighting in Afghanistan have been released.
Killed while serving their country were: Staff Sgt. Octavio Herrera of Caldwell, Idaho; Sgt. Jamar A. Hicks from Little Rock, Ark.; and Spc. Keith E. Grace, Jr., of Baytown, Texas.
