His staff truly worked hand in hand with the veteran's advocates and held monthly meetings and updates on the final push. This is the bill that became law that listed each of the symptoms of gulf war illness that should be compensated!

Government Funding on Gulf War Illness Research- DOD CDMRP
So here is the latest information IT IS STILL TO BE DETERMINED How Much For Sure For Gulf War Illness Research Program at DOD-CDMRP For FY2011. IT never hurts to keep your voice and written words in front of your US Representatives and US Senators and for you to share those to as many elected officials in all the parties from local to State to National! And to get the news of that out in all ways possible!!!
In a year with continuing resolutions, partisan battles, and omnibus bill that runs in the thousands of pages that throw everything into the soup when they cannt get the 13 funding bills through in any form of clean method. Well, lets us say it is not a clean recipe at that point, behind the scenes cooks can be known to help or hinder. Even when a number of us advocates and those on the hill ie staffers are doing everything to track and monitor. AS the old song goes Behind closed doors......You never can tell where a secret supporter, Santa, Cook can either spice up the recipe or make it go sour.
Veterans Higher Risk For Lung Cancer- Steps To Take
Environmental factors associated with lung cancer are grossly underestimated. At the direction of Congress, the Institute of Medicine began studying the health impact of Gulf War exposure to depleted uranium, the residue left after nuclear-grade uranium is extracted. Like radon, which is the second leading cause of lung cancer, depleted uranium, used in weapons and armor shielding, can give off radioactive products of decay that can be carcinogenic. While the first Institute of Medicine report in 2000 found insufficient evidence of a definite link to lung cancer, the 2008 update report now assigns “high priority” to continued review of the link with lung cancer. The institute has also been reviewing the impact of exposure to fuel exhausts, smoke from burning oil wells, kerosene cookers and heaters in enclosed tents and other battlefield emissions. The “strongest finding” was the association of combustion products and lung cancer.
The Crime Against Veterans of the Gulf War 1990-91 Plays Forward
Update on Depleted Uranium Internationally.
There has been work being done internationally while the media ignores the issue. Here is the news contained below that doesn't appear in mainstream media coverage. There is concern but medical research and peer reviewed journal articles seem to take decades, while veterans die without help, denial of compensation, denial of a proactive medical system to perform diagnostic tests in a full screening in a timely manner to catch health problems and to diagnose cancers at the earliest date possible and to monitor health status for other diseases related to respiratory and cardiac and neuroimmune problems.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO GET ACROSS:
The level received last year for DOD CDMRP GULF WAR ILLNESS RESEARCH(Department of Defense Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program) was 8 million for FY10, the best we are able to discern at this time is that the continuing resolution and other hill sources seem to indicate that is again what might come out in the final wash.
Gulf War Veterans 1990-91 Memorialized November Taps Listing
So far these 34 Deaths in November 2010 and the one from October included we want to continue to remember them and their survivors. We have no data if any or all or a part of these were receiving Disability from the VA or were rated service connected. We do not know if the VA even has all of these recorded because some died for sure with no VA Rating, No VA C file, etc. or are never seen by the VA. This list presenting for honor today continues to number 35 . Well over one a day gulf war veterans 90-91 are dying. These are historical data that shows as Mr Perot said the largest post war morbidity/mortality to date.
VETERAN NEEDS FOCUS NEEDS TO BE IN CIVILIAN COMMUNITY
A new organization provides service of true value to veterans. Many companies are finally seeing the many needs of veterans and are stepping up to the plate to help veterans. So much is needed in the area of helping veterans this is a step forward. Veterans needs are so often neglected because they just are not seen or visualized. We need Oprah and all those Doctor shows on main stream media to truly focus on VETERANS and the many needs that are not answered for those that have given their lives to this country.

In continuing coverage, the Farmington (NM) Daily Times (11/26, Landry, 17K) reports on the impact of the memorandum signed last month between the VA and the Indian Health Service designed to improve the health of American Indian and Alaska Native veterans. The plan for coordination, collaboration and resource-sharing between the two agencies, was hailed by VA Secretary Shinseki as "a renewal of an important partnership" begun with a similar memorandum in 2003, "which recognized that both organizations would achieve greater success by working together." The memorandum "addresses 12 goals, including increasing services and benefits to veterans and American Indians, improve coordination of care, to enhance access to and quality of care and to address emergency and disaster response."
