Secretary of Defense GatesMaureen Dowd has written an Op Ed piece in today’s New York Times in which she discusses Secretary of Defense Gates’ past and present roles in Afghanistan and the region.  It is not a flattering portrait but is a must-read for anyone interested in following the Secretary’s batting average in this losing game.  He is not All-Star by any means.

The piece is entitled Doubts About Certitude. And the Times editorial board supports this war? Huh?
