Branch of military served in: U.S. Air Force
Why did you join the military? I joined the Air Force Reserves and was called up during the Berlin Wall Crisis
What were your first impressions of your military unit? You had to follow a lot of rules
Highest rank achieved: Airman, Second Class
How military service shaped your career and the way you do business today? I appreciate those who have served and we go out of our way to make job opportunities available to them.
What your firm and/or you have done to help veterans? We actively seek out veterans through job fairs and job boards. We provide them training and we support their continued service in the reserves. In addition, we give away over 1,500 vacations each year to those who served in the War on Terror in Iraq and Afghanistan. We also support numerous veterans and service related charities. We have been recognized as one of the top 50 employers of the military for the past three years in a row by CivilianJobs.com
Advice you give to veterans? When you write your resume, have someone who is not in the military read it and tell you what it means to them. Too often we see resumes from veterans that describe things they have done that don’t make any sense to a civilian.
