Paul Swenson, founder of the National Healing Field® Foundation announced today that the city of Springfield, OH will be a host city to a Field of Honor flag memorial in honor of our service men and women. “The host city of Springfield is a member of an impressive and growing list of host cities across the country,” says Mr. Swenson. “We expect to see more than 80 communities with Fields of Honor flying on grassy lawns and parks this year.”
Each flag in this Military Field of Honor flag memorial represents a million thank yous to our service men and women currently serving and our veterans. Each flag is a visible reminder of the selfless, dedicated service to our Country by military service personnel and the ultimate sacrifice made by these men and women.
On June 6 -14, 2010, volunteers and organizers will transform the grassy lawn in front of Jackson, Lytle & Williams Funeral Home into a tribute of red white and blue. The 8 foot tall American flags, paying tribute to our heroes who have fought for the cause of freedom, will help visitors to heal, honor and remember that freedom isn’t free.
This incredible and patriotic event is free and hosted by Jackson, Lytle & Williams Funeral Home. The field of red white and blue is being funded through business sponsors and flag sales. Individuals and businesses can sponsor a flag and on June 14th take them home to continue your tribute and honor to our great country.
Funds raised through sponsorships and flag sales will be donated to local veteran charities including Honor Flight which is founded here in Clark County.
