BG Burkett and Swift Boat Liars

The 2004 election is over. John Kerry is back to spending his millions and Bush and Cheney are both hoping to stay out of prison. All that is left of the 04 election is a trail of smears against vets by the Swift Boat boys and Bush family friend, the infamous BG Burkett, Dallas stockbroker and front man for the paid Swift Boat liars.
Funny how Vietnam veterans always end up with millionaire’s talking for them. Worse yet, millionaires like Burkett, author of Stolen Valor. Burkett, a close Bush associate, Dallas hot-club dandy and country club rear echelon Vietnam Vet himself acting as front man for Karl Rove, has been on a nationwide hunt for phony veterans but not AWOL National Guardsmen or draft dodgers.
Keeping his focus narrow, Burkett, acting with his long discredited Swiftie group, worked the Fox network for the Bush campaign smearing Kerry and his crewmates and spreading stink on every vet that served with honor.
Thus far, requests for proof that Burkett spent one second in harms way in Vietnam have had about as much response as the groups offering cash for anyone who saw President Bush during his last two years of National Guard service. However, we have been told that Burkett has a really great wardrobe.
Stories now spreading in vet circles that Burkett, the Swifties, Bush and key administration associates had been well known in the Austin and Dallas gay scene are not substantiated. Coincidence and proof are not the same thing by far. Current military policy enacted during the Clinton administration has lessened persecution of gays in the military and though these individuals may have served prior to this time, accusations against any of them or other key administration officials who have already been “outed” should be treated as private personal matters unless small children are involved.
