There are an estimated 49,000 job vacancies at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and more than 35,000 of those jobs are in the Veterans Health Administration.
The staffing shortages are system wide and impact the VA’s ability to provide quality care to veterans in need.
According to its website, the VHA is America’s largest integrated health care system, serving 9 million veterans every year.
