Larger companies often have a greater level of financial stability which allows them to provide more formal programs that benefit employees. These companies have a large enough number of employees to justify robust internal development programs. If you want to be an executive, you usually have access to a mentor and a manager that can show you what that path looks like. Corporations can give you a clear structure and a ladder to move you forward.
