Local farmer looks to help veterans

Blue Winds Dancing Sanctuary (BWDS) is a non-profit organic farm in Indianola that was created to provide a creative, alternative, holistic way for veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) to heal.
BWDS Owner and farmer Ingrid Huffman has begun a program at BWDS called “Operation Be Alive” which she believes can empower veterans to conquer PTSD by discovering who they are at their core through the power of nature and using ancient techniques and reconnection with the source of life.
Huffman is a veteran of both the Navy and Army Nurse Corps. Huffman served in the Navy and retired from service prior to the US invasion of Iraq in 2003. Huffman re-enlisted with the Army when the US decided to send troops.
