“Veterans have leadership and teamwork experience, and are people of character. Today’s veterans joined the military in time of war, where young soldiers were in the field solving problems that are not in books. The nature of their service is about action, purpose, and they know how to get things done,” said Ross Brown, director, Military and Veterans Affairs, JPMorgan Chase.
With this knowledge and a commitment to hiring veterans, JPMorgan Chase became one of the founders of The 100,000 Jobs Mission, which began in 2011 as a coalition of eleven companies committed to hiring 100,000 veterans by 2020.
Yet, that goal was reached in early 2014 and by September 2015, over 300,000 veterans had been hired by the coalition. The coalition has now grown to more than 212 companies.
On Nov. 1, the 100,000 Jobs Mission announced a new goal and name for the coalition. The new name will be Veteran Jobs Mission and the new goal of collectively hiring a total of one million military veterans.
