Becky Crow, who served in the Air Force, is now the executive director of the Veterans Foundation of Stanislaus County.
The foundation recently formed as a nonprofit to partner with the city of Modesto and Stanislaus County to create a one-stop service center for Stanislaus County military veterans and their families. The planned facility will include a banquet hall with room for up to 500 people.
She will spearhead the fundraising effort to furnish and equip the veterans hall, the kitchen and meeting rooms. Planning for the Veterans Day parade is underway.
Entry applications are available at Veterans Service Office at 121 Downey Ave., Suite 102, Modesto, CA 95354. Veterans are invited to walk in the parade, which will include a special section for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, for whom no entry application is required. Donations may be sent to 121 Downey Ave., Suite 102, Modesto, CA 95354. Crow can be contacted at 209-484-7166 or beckscrow@comcast.net.
