Several explosions that would be linked to the explosion of an arms depot for the EIS were heard in the town of Mayadeen, in the East of the country, in Deir al-Zour province, according to the Observatory.
Twenty other fighters would be injured and the casualty list could grow given the large number of seriously wounded fighters.
The Observatory said that the cause of the explosion was unknown, whether it is a bombing or a technical failure.
The EIS seized large parts of the province of Deir al-Zour power station since the beginning of the conflict 4 years due to its location on the border of the Iraq and its oilfields.
