The year 2011 saw over 2 million couples in the United States get married – and around 877,000 get divorced.  While these numbers are certainly interesting, knowing more about the true costs of getting a divorce is even more important, especially for married couples on the brink of separation.
On average, a divorce can set you back from $15,000 to $30,000, but the total amount varies for each case depending on several factors that are not limited to court fees. Even more important to know is the fact that the expenses don’t necessarily end once the results of the proceedings have been made.
