The concept of GOSF was to boost the sales of online shopping portals by offering heavy deals and discounts to their shoppers. The concept is similar to ‘Cyber Monday’ and ‘China Shopping Festival’. Initially, it allured a lot of online shoppers when it was held for 24 hours.
Review of GOSF 2013
The GOSF 2013 was handsomely successful than its predecessor. This time it was organized for 3 days from 11 to 13 December but later it was extended to 4^th day due to the heavy traffic and popularity. The result of GOSF2013 was startling for everyone. The event recorded a huge success in all parameters weather it was the increased participation of online stores, registered traffic, new shoppers or sales. The event attracted 2 million visitors i.e. 150 % more visitors as compared to the year 2013 and saw the participation of more than 200 partners including telecommunication companies, travel sites and various brands like Amazon, Jabong, Flipkart, Snapdeal, Myntra, Homeshop18, eBay, etc. The event also recorded the great sales which was the almost 5 times more than usual.
GOSF 2013 trended across all the social media platforms and in fact, the event recorded about 125,000 tweets. Really, GOSF 2013 acted as a promoter to further boost adoption of online shopping in India.

As hosted previously, the GOSF 2014 is likely to be a three day event and might be held from 11 December to 13 December 2014.
