This is a Song in a series Dedicated to the 34 Men Killed, and to the Survivors of the USS Liberty, attacked by the Israeli’s on June 8, 1967.

WELL THE TIME HAS FINALLY COME, FOR THE STORY TO BE TOLD,
THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN LISTENED TO–A LONG TIME AGO.
IN 1967, ON THE 8TH DAY OF JUNE–CAME THE ATTACK OF THE LIBERTY,
AND THE NEEDLESS LOSS OF MANY OF HER CREW.
CHORUS:
AND THE LIBERTY FELL, LIKE A WOUNDED AND DYING LAMB;
THE MEN AND THEIR LIVES BETRAYED, AND THEIR SOULS WERE SURELY DAMNED.
AND ALL THE FEAR, AND THE DEATH, AND THE PAIN, WILL NEVER DEPART ME,

THEY SAID THAT ISRAELI FORCES KNEW NOT OF THE LIBERTY’S TRUE IDENTITY,
AND SO THEY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF HER SERENITY.
THEY ATTACKED THE SILENT SHIP, MAKING A FORTY-FOOT HOLE IN HER STARBOARD,
KILLING THIRTY-FOUR, AND WOUNDING ALMOST TWO HUNDRED MORE;
THEIR JETS SENDING DOWN MERCILESS NAPALM,
IT LOOKED LIKE A DEVIL’S STARWAR.
