Gulf War Veteran, Scott Worthy, Funeral 2pm Sunday Jan 16

We salute another young veteran of the Gulf War, USA, 45, Cancer, from Birmingham, Al who will be laid to rest Sunday.

Funeral Services for Drew Scott Worthy, 45 of Birmingham, AL will be Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011 at 2 pm at Talladega Funeral Home with Father Anthony and Rev. Larry Horn officiating. Scott lost his battle with cancer Thursday, Jan. 13, at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Birmingham. The family will be accepting friends Sunday beginning at 12 pm also at Talladega Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Pine Hill Cemetery.

Scott Worthy leaves behind his mother Margaret Worthy of Birmingham, his son Corey Worthy, his daughter Peyton Worthy, and his children’s mother Kerri Worthy all of Pleasant View, TN, and his brother Craig Worthy, his wife Lupe, and their daughter Madison of Alameda, CA. He is preceded in death by his father Billy J. Worthy, and his grandparents Willis Paul “Slim” and Jewel Worthy, and Hinton and Evelyn Mitchell. Scott, a U.S. Army Veteran served in the Gulf War. He was a member of the EWTN Catholic Churches in Irondale, AL, and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Scott’s cousins Steve Hendrix, Terry Hendrix, Don Hendrix, Dave Josey, Mitchell Glaze, and Dale Glaze will serve as his pallbearers.
