– “I wonder if [Issa] understands that the USPS and the Federal Government are one of the largest, if not the largest employer of (Veterans) and Disabled Veterans in the world! If he is going to “cut 200,000 USPS workers”, as he has stated to the (Heritage) Foundation, Does he have something against Veterans having good jobs?” –
Rep. Darrell Issa is reported to become the next chair of the the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, “a panel with wide jurisdiction over government operations, federal workers, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Postal Service,” reports Ed O’Keefe in the Post.
Issa is also widely expected to become subpoena-happy blasting the administration under cover of his committee.
Here’s why veterans should be worried.
Below is a comment from the piece that Issa and his anti-veteran colleagues should read very carefully.
From reader eyeonyou:
I wonder if [Issa] understands that the USPS and the Federal Government are one of the largest, if not the largest employer of (Veterans) and Disabled Veterans in the world! If he is going to “cut 200,000 USPS workers”, as he has stated to the (Heritage) Foundation, Does he have something against Veterans having good jobs? Don’t forget that Veterans groups vote too! With so many (troops) returning from the wars and not having jobs available when they (enter) the market, and now he wants to put another 200,000 in the unemployment lines? I plan to express this viewpoint to all the veteran organizations that I am associated with and let them know what is happening!
