U.S. Department of Defense Announces Latest Contract Awards

CONTRACTS

NAVY

                Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding – Newport News, Newport News, Va., is being awarded a $67,145,839 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract modification (62793-07-C-0001) for continuation of fiscal 2011 advance planning efforts to prepare and make ready for the defueling and inactivation of the USS Enterprise (CVN 65) and its reactor plants.  This effort will provide for all advanced planning, shipchecks, design, documentation, engineering, procurement, fabrication and preliminary shipyard or support facility work.  Work will be performed in Newport News, Va., and is expected to complete by Sept. 30, 2011.  Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This contract was not competitively procured.  The Supervisor of Shipbuilding Conversion and Repair, Newport News, Va., is the contracting activity.

                Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems – Marine Systems, Sunnyvale, Calif., is being awarded a $50,411,925 firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee, cost-plus-incentive-fee contract for United States/United Kingdom fiscal 2011 underwater launcher system support.  This contract contains options which, if exercised, will bring the total contract amount to $63,102,296.  Work will be performed in Sunnyvale, Calif. (82 percent); Bangor, Wash. (8 percent); Kings Bay, Ga. (8 percent); Bremerton, Wash. (1 percent); and Norfolk, Va. (1 percent).  Work is expected to be completed Aug. 31, 2013.  Contract funds in the amount of $46,293,697 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This contract was not competitively procured.  Navy Strategic Systems Programs, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (N00030-11-C-0004).

AIR FORCE

                Rockwell Collins, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was awarded a maximum $9,000,000 follow-on contract for avionics sustaining engineering services for the C/KC-135 series aircraft fleet.  At this time, nothing has been obligated.  OO-ALC/GKCK, Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., is the contracting activity (FA8105-11-D-0001).

ARMY

                GM GDLS Defense Group, LLC, Sterling Heights, Mich., was awarded on Oct. 22 a $8,340,249 firm-fixed-price contract.  This contract action cuts the modified hull design (double-v hull) into the production of an additional 46 Stryker vehicles.  The double-v hull is an integrated solution that provides improved protection levels to support operations in the Operation Enduring Freedom area of responsibility.  Work is to be performed in London, Canada (50 percent), and Anniston, Ala. (50 percent), with an estimated completion date of Feb. 29, 2012.  One bid was solicited with one bid received.  TACOM, CCTA-AIP, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (W56HZV-07-D-M112).
