U.S. Department of Defense Announces Latest Contract Award

NAVY

                Austal USA, Mobile, Ala., is being awarded a $204,652,897 modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-08-C-2217) for the exercise of construction options for ships four and five of the Joint High Speed Vessel (JHSV) program.  The JHSV will provide high speed, shallow draft transportation capability to support the intra-theater maneuver of personnel, supplies and equipment for the Navy, Marine Corps, and Army.  Work will be performed in Mobile, Ala., and is expected to be completed by December 2013.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

                General Dynamics, Electric Boat Corp., Groton, Conn., is being awarded a $45,598,001 modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-07-C-4005) for non-nuclear maintenance and repair support at the Naval Submarine Support Facility, Naval Submarine Base, New London, Conn.  Under the terms of the contract Electric Boat will continue to provide services required to support planned and emergent non-nuclear maintenance and repair for operational nuclear submarines, floating dry-docks, support and service craft, and other platforms and equipment.  Work will be performed in New London, Conn., and is expected to be completed by September 2011.  Contract funds in the amount of $6,000,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington Navy Yard, D.C., is the contracting activity.

                General Dynamics, Electric Boat Corp., Groton, Conn., is being awarded a $26,999,951 modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-10-C-4302) for Nuclear Regional Maintenance Department tasks in support of operational nuclear submarines at the Naval Submarine Support Facility, Naval Submarine Base, New London, Conn.  Under the terms of the contract, Electric Boat will continue to provide services required to support planned and emergent nuclear maintenance and repair for operational nuclear submarines.  Work will be performed in New London, Conn., and is expected to be completed by September 2011.  Contract funds in the amount of $5,000,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington Navy Yard, D.C., is the contracting activity.

                Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., Stratford, Conn., is being awarded a $17,668,830 firm-fixed-price modification to a previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract (N00019-07-D-0004) to exercise an option for the fiscal 2011 VH-3D/VH-60N executive helicopter special progressive aircraft rework effort.  Work will be performed in Stratford, Conn., and is expected to be completed in September 2011.  Contract funds in the amount of $17,668,830 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

                MIL Corp., Bowie, Md., is being awarded $7,096,734 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to provide engineering, technical and management services in support of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division’s Integrated Battlespace Simulation and Test Division, which supports the Navy’s research, development, test and evaluation networks.  Work will be performed in China Lake, Calif. (55 percent), and Patuxent River, Md. (45 percent), and is expected to be completed in April 2011.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This contract was not competitively procured under FAR 6.302-1.  The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00421-11-C-0013).

DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

                Safe Ports*, Charleston, S.C., is being awarded a maximum $29,950,614 firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for material distribution services.  Other location of performance is Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Kandahar, Afghanistan.  Using service is Defense Logistics Agency Distribution.  The original proposal was solicited on the Federal Business Opportunities website with eight responses.  This contract has a one-year base and four one-year option periods.  The date of performance completion is Oct. 11, 2015.  The Defense Logistics Agency Distribution, New Cumberland, Pa., is the contracting activity (SP3300-11-C-0001).

AIR FORCE

                Raytheon Co., Tucson, Ariz., was awarded a $20,133,837 contract which will provide for the next generation guidance section to design and build a new guidance section test position.  At this time, the entire amount has been obligated.  AAC/EBAC, Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., is the contracting activity (FA8675-10-C-0014; P00004).
