                The Missile Defense Agency is awarding a contract modification valued not to exceed $18,000,000 to the Lockheed Martin Space Systems Co. (LMSSC), Sunnyvale, Calif., under contract HQ0147-07-C-0196.  Under this contract modification, LMSSC initiates fabrication of redesigned mid-body heat shields for incorporation into THAAD interceptors.  LMSSC will manufacture 49 redesigned mid-body heat shields and install these on mid-body substrate assemblies.  The work will be managed by LMSSC Sunnyvale, Calif., with final assembly performed at Lockheed Martin’s interceptor production facility, Pike County Operations, Troy, Ala.  The period of performance is projected through February 2012.
