In today’s Washington Post we once again learn that the spirit of J. Edgar Hoover is alive and well! The FBI fears no one. Why should it? It has a file on everybody! George Orwell’s classic novel “1984” spoke about this sort of government “oversight”. Is this what we served in uniform to protect?
The first piece is entitled FBI broke law for years in phone record searches . I bet you that’s a shocker to you, eh? Stop snickering! I am sure that somebody is surprised over this. Okay, maybe not me or you, but somebody out there still sees the FBI as pure as Efrem Zimbalist Jr. portrayed it in the past on Sunday night television. Those were the days, eh?
In another article entitled Spaniard used in bin Laden pic rejects US apology we find that the Spanish parliamentarian wants to know how many Leftists in North America, Europe and Africa does the FBI keep a file on? I can answer that. All of them.
He is a leftist and his picture was more or less used by the U.S. government as a matrix to update a picture of Bin Laden for anti-terrorist organizations. Great way to find yourself thrown off an airplane, eh?
