The Great Recession’s Aftermath – Newsweek Online

In Newsweek online today we find an article entitled The Great Recession’s Aftermath .  It is a short study in the vague "recovery" window that we are now within.  It is hard to tell what is happening and what happens on Wall Street has little to do with what is happening on Main Street.  This is not good.

This "recovery" seems for millions of Americans to be a never ending version of "talk to the hand, because the face is not listening!"

To make these difficult matters clearer, here is the Quote of the Day from the New York Times.

From CBSNews online we find an article entitled Poll: Fewer say They Have it Better Than Parents and that cannot be good for the economic outlook of the country. And speaking of outlook, take a look out your paradigm window at this piece. 

Newsweek has another story about lone wolf terrorists and the growing threat from these isolationist nutjobs entitled A Thousand Points of Hate .  It seems that lone wolves in the worldwide clan of terror are growing ever more abundant.  What do you think of that? 

In a related article from Time online entitled Will New Airport Body Scanners Stop Future Terror Attacks? we have a chance to ask ourselves the question, what can we do to stop people from attempting to kill us, our spouses and grandma at the airport just because we are there?

Terror and terrorism has a way of slowing down economic growth in a country.  When people fear flying on business trips and travelling to the federal building and going overseas for vacation, economies tend to crack.

Continued airport terrorism certainly will impact our economy.  It is hard to concentrate on growing economically when every Muslim nut in the world wants a piece of us…scattered all over the tarmac…and he is willing to sacrifice himself to get it done. 

Why do you think they hate us so badly?  Think about that.  Think honestly about it.  Draw your own conclusions. I won’t preach if you promise to be honest with yourself.

And finally, from Time online we have an article entitled Why Obama Has Defaulted to Bush Foreign Policy Positions.  This is a must read for left wing Democrats like me who cannot understand why we elected an African American version of Calvin Coolidge when we really thought that we were electing someone akin to John Kennedy or at least Harry Truman.  Man oh man, how wrong can progressive idealists be?!

This guy is very quickly turning into one of the most talked about and admired mainstream Republican presidents we have had since Eisenhower.  If the Republicans had any sense they would draft him to be their next presidential candidate at the Republican Convention when the time comes.

How in the hell did we do this to ourselves my fellow Democrats?
