UNINFORMED "FLUFF" PIECE FROM US NEWS AND WORLD REPORT A TRAVESTY OF PROPAGANDA, MISINFORMATION AND LIES

Next week I will be in Iraq meeting with officials of the government, militias and commercial groups. Last week, I had a friend of mine who is "inpatient" at one of the PTSD clinics run for the Irakki vets spend the weekend. My friend, a former Vietnam combat medic had alot of say about things that don’t agree with what US News and World Reports is trying to peddle without any objective verification.
My friend, a combat vet with Silver Star and DSC and a series of college degrees points out that the program he is in has instructors who are barely literate and the PTSD program itself is little more than a minimum security prison. Some vets are doing years in these programs now with waiting lists till the end of time. I am still learning but something sounds terribly wrong.
He spends his days interviewing our new volunteer army. They are, on the whole, much less educated, extremely racist and politically ignorant, unlike their predecessors in Vietnam. They are told how much better they are than we were. We were told the same thing about how bad WW2 vets were. Lies follow lies. Only idiots like a moronic reporter being hand fed disinformation from the DOD would liste to this kind of shit.
One thing is obvious to anyone with half a brain, an army with draftees is much better than a volunteer army. The big point being that the average IQ increases 20% or more. Idiots and criminals with guns are the people our heroes fight with, not "reliable buddies". Almost every vet in the PTSD program we are looking at has a criminal record. The real military in the real world talks about little other than how much better the military was when it had the high quality draftees and how much they wish they had them back.
All hate Arabs/Muslims and advocate the open murder of every one of them from any country including our allies. I spent alot of time in the Middle East and deal with kind, polite and enjoyable people. However, I wasnlt raised on a feed lot handling poisonous snakes at church and learning to burn crosses before I learned to ride a bike. The average educated American is safer in Syria than a Red State.
I have spent time with a number of our military units. Some of them are top notch. Some are an absolute joke. Some of the guys who stay on year after year are good at what they do. They are professional soldiers. Our volunteer army has also brought in every moron and degenerate the "press gang" recruiters can dupe into uniform.
For 13 years it has been my job to take care of as many vets as possible. I am trying to learn about the new vets. I know the new army somewhat. It is an army dumbed down for volunteers who are assumed to need "taking care of" and who are more like the troops brought to Vietnam later in the war when standards were lowered. They need fancy uniforms, medals for everything and "attaboys" instead of real enemies and medical care when wounded.
Nobody serving in Iraq today is up to operating the way Marines operated in WW2, Korea or Vietnam. They have the skills but they don’t have the overall individual leadership that we get from genuine wartime, really smart guys in uniform fighing a war because they are either crazy or forced to. Army recruiting has one aim, getting people they can handle and people who will believe anything they are told. Good decision makers do not come from such a group
It’s like those stories where our parents always walked to school 20 miles barefoot thru huge snow drifts. Much of Vietnam involved starvation, staying in the field with malaria and serious wounds and weeks at a time with no contact with leadership above the rank of……certainly not officers.
Nobody wants to hear this. If you wonder why so many died and the rest died soon after Vietnam with only a handfull of survivors left, this might help explain it.
We see pictures of guys sleeping in pits a night or two next to their vehicles during the initial invasion of Iraq. We are taught to pity them. Marines in Vietnam had no vehicles and slept on the ground for many months at a time. Korea and WW2 were the same.
In World War I, Marines in France ate their own horses to keep from starving.
Life without ammunition and food was common. We lived off the land. These guys that run their mouths know little of war. When you lose 6 guys to a rocket attack on their air conditioned vehicle, it is not the same as the hundreds we lost in hand to hand combat, outnumbered 5 to one or more.
Driving thru Gettysburg isn’t just about statues and a picnic. At least see the movie. Get real. War is total shit. People die, inside and out. Sometimes it takes years. This is why war is serious. Somebody needs to tell the tourists in Washington about this.
The bullshit, lies and insults need to end. My daughter wants to go to Europe this year. She carries a military dependent ID. I had to tell her she couldnt use base services because we have street gangs running some of our bases and they are more dangerous than Detroit. We have an interesting class system in our military. Some live like the upper middle class or better. Some barely survive and some live in the world of tats and bling and beat downs, with gang life on the street carrying over to Iraq or Germany.
Vietnam was far from perfect. Many Americans learned to hate the Vietnamese. Marines lived with them every day. They were good people. The people of Iraq are good people. If you want, I will bring back some nice photos of me eating goats and shooting an AK in the air. We need to build a country there that can stand on its own. I am going there to work on that.
Until we are ready to totally reasses who we are and to stop our racism, religioius "crusadism" and phony cultural superiority, everyone will continue to hate us.
I am certain that many in our military are learning to hate Iraqis. They are learning to hate us.
The reasons are entirely understandable. However understandable they are, they are going to destroy all of us. Stay angry. Stay afraid. Stay stupid.
None of this is simple. Every time you read something that says it is, know you are reading a lie.
You know you are reading/hearing/seeing a lie when it comes from a source owned by a large corporation.
